Run an AI agent on a Nokia 110 feature phone

Author reverse-engineered a 48MB-RAM Nokia 110 to run an AI agent on it and automate a few actions.

What they did

The author studied the Nokia 110 4G firmware and boot process, then ran custom code in RAM through the Calculator entry point. They turned Calculator into a chat app that sends typed messages to the DeepSeek chat API and acts on tool calls. OpenAI Codex helped build it. Because of the 48MB memory limit, they wrote a minimal custom agent, used smaller builds, compressed the payload and reused buffers.

How it went

It works as a prototype. Over mobile data, unplugged, it can answer questions, check the battery, switch the torch on and off, start a call and set an alarm. It is not permanent.

Worth knowing

The code is loaded into RAM from a computer and is lost on restart or power-off, so it must be reloaded each time. The source code isn't published.
